Over the past two decades, as the Valley's building stock has finally been deemed "historic," so has our identity become increasingly tied to the imprint of midcentury modernism. As a reflection of this, a new generation of builders, developers, and business owners have taken on the project of restoring some of the metro's most iconic structures--and reimagining some forgotten structures into new beacons.
In concert with AIA Phoenix Metro as part of our annual modernist celebration, Modern Phoenix Week, LFA For(u)m is proud to share the stories of those at the vanguard of this movement. Between hotels, residences, restaurants, and retail shops, the impact of the Valley's middle-century is recentralizing around the style's inherent sustainability and sleek design, allowing a new crop to highlight these practices and enhance them.
Featuring architects, builders, developers, and real-estate representatives behind such acclaimed rehabs as Hotel Valley Ho, multiple Al Beadle projects, Postino, and more.
*Active For(u)m and AIA Phoenix Metro members receive discounted admission. AIA members please E-mail Connor@localfirstaz.com to reserve your spot.
